Aya Abu Sheikha

2nd year PhD graduate student Matriculated 2019 Mentor: Matthew Quinn, PhD Program: Molecular Genetics

Aya graduated from Jordan University of Science and Technology, Jordan in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology. In 2015 she received her Master of Science in Applied Biological Sciences from the same University. Her thesis was titled “Heat shock proteins expression in triple negative breast cancer: HSP60 expression is associated with poor prognosis.” It was published in the European Journal of Gynecological Oncology. Aya is currently working in Dr. Matthew Quinn’s lab; studying stress hormones signaling pathways and their interaction with metabolites during chronic stress.
