Hannah C. Ainsworth, PhD Bioinformatician Department of Biostatistics and Data Science.(Langefeld Lab)

Hannah received her PhD in molecular genetics and genomics from the Wake Forest Graduate School in 2019. She previously earned her BSc from Salem College with a major in chemistry and minor in sociology. Before joining the Wake Forest PhD program, she worked in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology studying the genetics of fatty acid metabolism, including allele-specific epigenetic regulation of the FADS gene cluster. Her current research centers on multi-omic contributors to complex diseases and the structural implications of genetic and epigenetic risk variants. She has worked on studies across a number of diseases and phenotypes, including glucose homeostasis, obesity, cardiovascular disease, renal disease, and multiple autoimmune diseases.
