Kip Zimmerman
Kip Zimmerman, PhD, Postdoctoral Fellow in the Olivier Lab
Kip Zimmerman recently joined the Olivier lab as a postdoctoral fellow. Kip is a biostatistician with an interest in applying and developing statistical methods to identify genomic drivers of disease. He earned his doctorate in Molecular Genetics and Genomics from the Wake Forest Graduate School of Arts and Sciences in 2020 under the mentorship of Dr. Carl Langefeld. His dissertation primarily focused on hypothesis testing for differential gene expression in single-cell RNA-sequencing studies. As a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Michael Olivier’s laboratory, Kip will focus on assembling computational pipelines for the analysis of proteomic and metabolomic data generated in Dr. Michael Olivier’s laboratory. In addition, he will concentrate on maturing statistical methods for integrating metabolomic data together proteomic and transcriptomic data in an effort to understand complex biological processes at more than one individual level of omics data.
