DR. LIANG LIU RECEIVES DEVELOPMENTAL RESEARCH AWARD

Congratulations to Dr. Liang Liu, Assistant Professor in Cancer Biology and Member of the Center for Precision Medicine for his recent Developmental Research Award from the MD Anderson Cancer Center Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPOREs) in Uterine Cancer for his proposal entitled “Mutations in TP53 Underlying Aggressive Endometrial Cancer in African Americans”. African Americans continue to face poorer clinical outcomes in endometrioid-type endometrial carcinoma (EEC). This project will address whether genetic mutations in the tumor suppressor TP53 lead to dysregulation of fatty acid metabolism and attenuation of the anti-tumor immune response that may help explain the poorer clinical outcome in affected patients.
