CTSI Translational Pilot Program – 2021/2022 Pilot Awards Now Open There are two separate RFAs Basic/Translational Science Clinical/Population Health Science Successful pilots will receive up to $40,000 in direct costs – up to 10 projects will be funded. Note: the Center for Biomedical Informatics (WFBMI) is offering a $10,000 bonus for one of the pilot awards if the proposed project involves informatics researchers, techniques and methods. The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research – RFA – Cellular Phenotyping in Human iPSCs This program will support phenotyping of human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) from the Parkinson’s Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI). This work will facilitate future mechanistic studies and expedite drug screening and proof-of-concept testing for Parkinson’s therapeutics. Pre-Proposals Due: September 28th Full Proposal Invites: Week of November 15th Funding for up to 2 years. Up to $200,000 for analysis of existing datasets; up to $1 million for phenotypic analysis. Dr. Avinash Bansode has a PhD in Organic Chemistry from CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, India, on metal-catalyzed π-activation chemistry for biological chemical space, transition metal-catalyzed C-H activation, selectfluor chemistry, and oxidative addition reaction. Currently, he is working as a postdoctoral research scholar at WFSOM in Dr. Kiran Solingapuram Sai’s lab. His postdoctoral work focuses on the development, automation, and optimization of novel radiochemistry syntheses for novel imaging biomarkers for AD and related dementia disorders.
